I’ve been an avid tabletop wargamer since I was 13.
My first game designed so far is Ancients D6. It took 3 rewrites to get it into a form I was happy with. The design taught me a lot about rule writing.
I worked with Aaron Bell on a Vassal version of Lost Battles/Strategos by Phil Sabin. Since then, another member of the group has taken up the reins and is currently making a new and improved version of Lost Battles VASSAL module.
I now am also working through my piles of unpainted lead and plastic (The Pledge). I am also limiting my spending to stuff found on thrift sites (ebay) and small items to round out projects (Year of Frugal Gaming). The quest to finish continues today.
Dear John,
A friend has passed on to me some napoloenic troop diagram templates by yourself. I was wondering if I could use and modify these for inclusion as illustrations for my rules at my website above and for later publication?
Regards,
Mike Collins
I`m not sure this is working but my yahoogroup is at:

Hi, I came across your site and wasn’t able to get an email address to contact you. Would you please consider adding a link to my website on your page. Please email me back and we’ll talk about it.
Thanks!

Hi John,
I was browsing your site and read through your battles using DBA 3 on vassal. I was wondering what module you use for them? They look so much better than the current module for DBA.
Thanks
Ken
Hi Ken,
I use my own VASSAL module. Most of the graphics are based on those from Junior General. I think it is small enough to send via e-mail. I can send you a copy if you like.

Thank you, I would appreciate it.
strongly support your “pledge” and “Year of Frugal Gaming”, and encourage you to stick to your guns. I talked about my version and the thinking behind it at my ECW 40mm blog. There needs to be a limit – hope you find your comfortable one!
I like your battle reports and was wondering if I could get a copy of your VASSAL module. Does it have Dark Ages or Medieval troops?
Hi Eric,
There is Medieval Troops. I have not added Dark Age troops (yet) and probably can’t for the near future. But I can get you a copy of the VASSAL module. BTW, the module can be found in the AMW yahoo group. I think it is something like 7MB. If your e-mail account can handle attachments of that size…lets say under 12MB to be safe, I can send it via e-mail.
John
I am not sure on the attachment limit but will definitely look on the AMW group.
Hi John,
Ed Mueller here. I stumbled across your blog awhile ago and was both impressed and inspired. I knew about Ancients D6 from our days in Silver Spring, but was not aware of all the other material that you have done–superb! There will be much to steal here 🙂
I don’t see a place to add myself as a follower on WordPress, but I’ve added your blog to the list on my blog.
Yes, I’ve started a blog as well. Some day, I hope it will grow up to be like yours!
